This is the reason why Holi is celebrated as a victory of truth and goodness over evil.
The Day Holika burnt to ashes is the day when women need to perform Dehan Holika.
It is a ritual wherein Women light bonfires and burn Holika to prevent their homes from being attacked by demon attacks. Holika Dehan is an important ritual that must be done by women to protect their families against evil spirits or demons.
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna was dark in complexion due to which he thought Radha wouldn’t accept his love. However, on the auspicious day of Holi, when Lord Krishna smeared colours on her face, she finally accepted him. This is the reason why it is celebrated as the festival of colours and love.
